Donate to the Mid America Freedom Band
It takes a lot of money and hard work to keep a multi-faceted musical group like this going for over a decade. Fortunately, MAFB is blessed with a group of generous donors who believe in our mission and support it with cash and in-kind donations. Some of these donors are the Band’s own members and their families and friends. There are also donations generously made by our audience members, as well as businesses large and small. Several large corporations with gift-matching programs also grace our donors' list. Good old-fashioned fundraisers like garage sales that are held yearly.
To make your tax-deductible donation online to the general operating funds, click the "Donate" button above or in the right-hand column. You may also donate by mail.

Everyday Items Needed
To run an organization takes a lot of materials. Do you have extra stamps, envelopes, plain paper lying around? If you do, why don't you donate it to us? We send out postcards, thank yous, and all types of information several times a year, and the costs quickly add up. If you are interested in donating an item, email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will get in touch with you and make arrangements for pickup. Thank you for considering the donation.
If you have an instrument that you have no need for, the band has many people who may be in need of an instrument. Many large instruments are too costly for an individual instrumentalist to own. All instruments are welcome.

We have great news! Mid America Freedom Band (MAFB) won the bid to host the 2018 Annual
Conference of the Lesbian and Gay Band Association in Kansas City!
The Lesbian and Gay Band Association is an international group of more than 30 performing
organizations and up to 400 musicians will join us in Kansas City from May 23–27, 2018 to
meet new friends, share ideas, and participate in performances. Collaborative plans are
underway with the choral ensemble Musica Vocale, and the final concert at the Kauffman
Center for the Performing Arts will feature works by a diverse group of Kansas City-based
composers, many of whom will be in attendance at the conference throughout the week!
We are so excited to show off our band and our city to fellow musicians from all over the world.
Our theme for the conference, “There’s No Place Like Home,” is a nod to one of the most
iconic lines from The Wizard of Oz. Although many basic costs of the concert are covered by
registration fees, there are still many more expenses that we will need to cover as the host
band. Some items that seem basic can the most expensive - from workshop and performance
venues to transportation and tuba rentals (tubas don’t fit in the overhead compartment) – we
need your help!
Please consider joining us in this exciting endeavor and supporting our opportunity to make
Kansas City shine on an international stage.
